André Alves visits the Luiret Team

For the month of May, we welcome André Alves, a PhD student at IGOT University of Lisbon, in the LUIRET team to work on his final chapter for his PhD.

André Alves is a PhD candidate at IGOT-ULisboa, funded by the MIT Portugal Programme. His research focuses on solar energy expansion and its implications for land use, particularly in Portugal. In recent years, he has examined land-use change associated with utility-scale solar power plants, as well as the spatial, policy, and governance dimensions of the energy transition. He is currently a visiting researcher at UCLouvain, collaborating with the LUIRET project team on developing future land-use scenarios for solar energy expansion.
