The LUIRET team (Ana Buchadas, Fadia Panosetti, Lucas Frank and Valeria Zambianchi) served as a jury member for the first edition of the Fast and Fair award. In this edition, 13 wind projects were evaluated against the “Fast and Fair” principles of: Local Influence, Local Value, Transparency, Nature-Positive, and Empowering Community-led Initiatives
Four outstanding projects were selected for the public vote, culminating in yesterday’s announcement of the winner: the Andilly-Les-Marais Wind Farm (France). This project stands out for its community-driven model, where a citizen cooperative of nearly 400 local residents owns 31% of the farm’s capital and holds 3/5 of the voting power.
We are happy to have been a small part of the process and look forward to these examples inspiring new, more just projects.
